Classy; not trashy.

So I’m pretty much fed up with my job. Gentle(ish) reminder to be respectful to the people around you, no matter who they are or where they work. The stereotypes about fast food employees being failures has to stop, because there are some genuinely brilliant people here where I work and they don’t deserve to be treated that way.

I’ve met a lot of great people here on tumblr, so some of you may find this post silly. But yes, people use the ‘baby-talk’ on me when I take orders. Yes, people yell and scream into the speakers. Yes, they pay up to $5 in just PENNIES, and they don’t do it because they have to, they do it to raise a reaction. People have thrown things at me, spit on me, blown cigarette smoke in my face, screamed at me, cursed at me, called me things like a bitch and a high school dropout, and it’s all because of where I work. It has nothing to do with how I act; the people who work with me say I’m the sweetest and most respectful person who works there. But this is what I get. This is what we all get on a daily basis and it needs to stop.

In the end, I’m just asking for respect. Remember that we’re humans. I’m not saying asshole employees don’t exist; I’ve seen plenty of them. But I try to be patient toward the customers who have wronged me, and I ask that you show the same patience for us. I guarantee you without a doubt in my mind that you will never experience another mean employee if everybody stopped treating us like dogs.

That concludes my rant. Resume your blogging.

Please fire me. My boss yelled at me when I refused to sell customers food that was six hours past the throw out time. Two hours later, my boss yelled at me again for not tossing the old food.

Reblog if you’ll PUBLICLY answer anything in your ask right now.
Why didn’t I learn to treat everything like it was the last time. My greatest regret was how much I believed in the future.
